Where is a good place to pick up these supplements? Any brand you recommend? What about a good Omega-3 supplement brand? What is good brand for a pro-biotic?
I have looked at all of these and there are so many out there!
Andrew Lessman who owns ProCaps Labs is an excellent source for buying vitamins & supplements because he puts no additives in any of his products. He makes his owns vitamins & supplements with solar energy in Nevada. He can been seen on HSN about 4 times a year but you can order his products from ProCaps Labs at any time & also anytime on HSN.com. They are usually a little cheaper at ProCaps Labs except when he runs Specials on HSN.com.
Great Epsiode Dr. Axe!
Danny, Whole Foods is a great place to pick-up these supplements. He recommends New Chapter or Garden of Life brands. You can also get supplements at http://www.vitacost.com. Cod/Fish Oils–Nordic Naturals or Carlsons are good brands. I hope this helps!
My new favorite hot cereal. Bobs Red Mill Meusli. Rolled oats, Raisins. dates, sunflower seed and almonds. Yummy!! I top it with a lot of fresh berries and it powers me up for my morning workout. No added sugar!
So glad my kids won’t eat this stuff!
I like how you always have something new up your sleeve in ways of getting the truth out on nutrition.I would like to suggest that you turn the volume down on the music part of your show. The same with your cooking videos. I nearly fell of my chair!
Turn the volume down on your computer
@dana
its the loudness of the intro music compared to the talking.
big change, it just happened to me, i had to turn the volume down quickly and then the doctors voice was really low.
have you tried it?
I have two small children; a 15 month old and a 5 year old. My 5 year old only will eat a few things; like most small children. We want him to eat healthy now; so that it will be easier for him to continue through his life. What do recommend for breakfast, that he would actually eat. P.S. He does not eat eggs.
Thanks
Ashly
My Berry Smoothie is a great breakfast that kids love! You can find the recipe here: http://www.draxe.com/recipe/berry-smoothie/ or watch me make it on Transform Your Kitchen here: http://www.draxe.com/video/berry-smoothie-ep-17/
Joshua…My best advise to you is don’t be afraid to give your child vegetables/fruits for BREAKFAST..Find out what your child likes, ex: carrots, green beans, broccoli…Believe or not kids LIKE veggies and fruits…But as a parent you must introduce it….The biggiest issue is buying the veggies…then cleaning them when you get home and cutting them up and putting them in a container..Most parents buy the veggies/fruits, then put them in the frig to rot!…Also, get rid of the junk food in your house…(Out of sight, out of hand)…Also, remember these words when your at the food store… “RESIST SUGAR AND IT WILL FLEE FROM YOU”. Keep your eyes off it..If you do this, I PROMISE you, your kids will want only healthy foods, and you will too.
I mill my wheat just before cooking with it. There is a great difference in using freshly milled because you get all the “good stuff” that is taken out when you buy at store. How do you feel about that wheat?
Are regular plain Oats good for you to eat
Are plain regular oats goood for you to eat? Do they keep you from losing weight?
They wouldn’t keep you from losing weight and they aren’t really bad or good for your health. But vegetables, fruits, beans, nuts are going to be better options than oats or grains.
Hello,
I just heard about you and your message from my brother, Ed James, who came to one of your meetings. He also lives in Nashville and is now using your products. He suggested I check out your web site.
I have a question….I am currently on chemo and have just started my 4th treatment. Thru a Colonoscopy it was discovered that I had a tumor in my colon. It was surgically removed in Jan of this year and was stage 2 cancer. They also removed my appendix and 16 lymph nodes that were close to the area of the tumor, all of which were cancer free. Then I was told I needed to do preventitive chemo, because I had several things working agaist me that would increase the chances of it coming back. They were my age which is 49 and no family history. I also am obese, have high blood pressure, and do not exercising enough. I was also diagnosed with Celiac which my mother also has. She was diagnosed with Lymphoma about 6 yrs ago. Both cancers are caused by Celiac, but I feel mine was also due to bad eating habits for years.
Ok, enough said, now for my question. I am at a point where I no longer have a peace about completing chemo. I would like to have a game plan and would like your advice for me in how I can start. I feel like what I am doing to my body is not God led and I want to only do what is pleasing to Him. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you. Lisa
Amen Dr., Amen! I hate all of this fake food that these industries are putting out. We get brown rice and whole grain wheat. We grind the wheat to make stuff like bread, cookies ect. We also get raw sugar and stevia to sweeten our foods. Unfortunately I’m the only health nut in the family (the other kids like to use the white flour, white sugar, ect.). I also love your recipes in you new cook book. Thanks so much for your efort to help America to get back to the natural stuff.
P.S. Don’t e-mail me with the e-mail address I put in. It’s my brother’s spam account.
Hi dr. Axe. I’ve wondering about casadian farm cereal. Is it really considered organic? they say that it is but I’m just verifying this how can you tell if this is actually organic? Also about d-ribose I take this powder suplement to increase my muscle endurance is this both true that d-ribose is produced in the body and is it really safe to use on a daily basis for muscle endurance?
I am having a really hard time controlling gas. I am also having problems controlling by bowels. It’s hard for me to have a good bowel movement. It is loose and It seems I can’t empty my bowels. I will have some leakage. The more fiber I eat the worse it is. None of the anti gas pills help with the gas.
I really appreciated the truth finally be told……I will help spread the truth around the world…….:)
We are the care provider for my father-in-law age 87 in advanced stage of cognitive disorder. His limited food preference is a sweet flavor. What are your recommendation from a dietary point of view
I really appreciate learning all this about food however when my husband and I go grocery shopping we are barely able to buy enough food to last between paychecks and therefore aren’t able to buy lots of fruits and veggies. We’ve tried and a breakfast of fruit just doesn’t last as long as a bowl of oatmeal. Veggies don’t last as long as pasta or meats and with 2 little kids we can’t afford all that food. Any suggestions on how to live healthy on a $300/month food budget?
Hey Jessica- I understand. For breakfast you could easily do omelets, a berry smoothie, or quinoa porridge in substitute of oatmeal. Check all those out here: http://www.draxe.com/recipes/breakfast/ If you can only afford to buy organic on a few things I recommend your meats be organic and fruits/vegetables where you’re eating the peel. Meals don’t have to be fancy or expensive to be healthy. For lunch you could make salmon patties and black beans on the side. For the salmon patties, just substitute traditional unhealthy crackers with a little gluten free flour, doesn’t have to be a lot. Hope this helps!
