Where can these cheese products be purchased?
At first I thought this was a bad/sad joke. You are promoting one of the leading causes of Cancer (Dairy)!? WOW… to “call yourself” a doctor and not know we humans are herbivores/frugivores, and never designed to ingest another mammals’ milk, is beyond me! http://veganstreams.com/our-beliefs-meat-dairy-mad-eaters-facts-plant-based-diet/
Hi Iain – Thanks for participating on the website, but I hope in future comments you will consider a more respectful tone. I know that many people who have community of DrAxe.com have differing views on eating. I know we have people who subscribe to a Paleo Diet, Anti-inflammatory Diet, Vegetarian Diet, and SAD (standard american diet) just to name a few.
Fermented dairy in my mind and from the research I have done is a superfood. It contains large amounts of Omega-3 fats, CLA, Vitamin K2, Probiotics, and Calcium. I have worked with many patients with digestive problems over the years and products like raw kefir have turned their health around. My own mother struggled with constipation and these products have made the biggest difference for her.
And I do agree that conventional pasteurized dairy is terrible for you health. It contains steroids, chemicals, denatured proteins, and damaged nutrients just to name a few problems. But these Beyond Organic Raw Dairy products have amazing health benefits and I will be eating them daily in my pursuit to be one of the healthiest people on the planet and in honoring God with my body.
If anyone would like to eventually get these foods they will be available starting October 3rd and you can find them at http://www.beyondorganicinsider.com.
Your hypotheses – at best – and profiteering website are clearly in need of some solid science and ethics! Please familiarize yourself with Dr. T. Colin Campbell’s “40 years of research”, and “The China Study”: http://www.tcolincampbell.org/
BTW, your mothers constipation was resolved because the body responds to toxic substances – of which another mammals milk is to OUR body – by flushing the bowels… this has been proven time and again.
Also notice you do not speak of Casein that is in ALL dairy products that has been proven to be a leading cause of cancer… very convenient for your true agenda!
I’m guessing Lain that you’ve never read the bible. In it God gives a detailed description of the food we humans (his creation) are supposed to eat. In it, it does tell us that we are to eat beef and milk. We’re just not supposed to eat the beef of our current mass producing, hormone and antibiotic filled grocery store variety beef.
UH-OH, I SEE ANOTHER GAIL ON HERE..
WE MIGHT HAVE TO SOMEHOW DIFFERENTIATE..
Ok..I’m that Gail that usually posts on here..
I do see that some others had some thoughts that I have – although Doc, I agree..no need for anyone to be inconsiderate or rude.
Just because we are writing rather than face to face doesn’t mean we have to be snippy.
I had some of the same questions and wanted to merely say that as the ‘store-bought’ processed cheese IS so terrible for you, and cancer-causing…and I do love that the Beyond Organic starts with the green-fed cows, etc..but is it Casein-free, as that is also important?
Years ago, I used to buy lovely RAW MILK, Casein-free cheeses from Alta Dena Dairy (in CA).
Can you possibly discuss some of those things – what, besides the green-fed cows, and the probiotics will make this cheese significantly different?
Thanks,
The Regular Gail
Hi Gail,
I’m guessing that you did not realize that GOD did not write the Bible, but MAN did and placed his ideas and beliefs in it. You might want to research that and find out for yourself instead of believing what “others’ have fed you. It’s a book and I have never seen God come down to earth to write a book? Also, Milk and Milk products are an ACID and cause your stomach to secrete mucus and form fat to prevent it from being damaged by the Milk. But of course you know this, because you researched it! And Man and the meat companies want you to believe its ok to kill animals and be ok with killing one of earth’s creatures.that has just as much right to be here as we do! Just FOOD for thought!
@ David:
Even though your comment was meant for the ‘other’ Gail, I’m going to respond.
Believing that the Bible is the Word of God is probably the first step of understanding, and of Faith.
Even the Bible itself tells how the Word was ‘inspired’ by God – and that translation means to be ‘breathed into’ (like inhale) by God.
Once someone gets that, all the lights start to come on..
Are vegans/vegetarians people who have chosen a specific dietary regimen, or a branch of the military? Since when do we treat people with contempt just because their dietary practices differ from ours? Go drink a tofu shake and chill, Iain.
Wow, hard to believe how defensive you get when someone doesn’t agree with your choice of eating habits. You seemed to have adapted a vegan lifestyle so it would probably be less stressful for you to just communicate with people who agree with you. Some people just can’t handle differing opinions. Counseling may help :)
Dr. T. Colin Campbell’s “40 years of research” can’t compare with generations of traditional peoples consuming fermented dairy (not to mention, meat and saturated FAT) and being just fine.
Perhaps you’re doing fine on a vegan diet. Great. Do everyone a favor though: please stop putting misinformation out there about humans being “herbivores/frugivores, and never designed to ingest another mammals’ milk.” You are wrong.
WHOA! Ian, calm down. Every body is entitled to their own opinions. You are just informed with stupid ones. You may disagree, but why post a mean toned rant angainst a community of people that strive for better health and overall fitness. My life has been changed by listening to Dr. Axe’s podcast. I committed myself to following his helpful advice and guidelines. I have never felt and looked better. Ian, it’s advice, not rule! I suggest you try it out though, then hop back on a a message board and thank me… Your welcome!
Lain, you are not considering the fact that for thousands of years, many civilizations have thrived on milk (cow, goat, camel, etc.) I had the same staunch view against milk as you do, but I still could not help but wonder why these civilizations could consume milk & thrive. How can that be explained? Milk is mentioned many times by God in the Bible as well. Pasteurization is the key to why “normal” milk is such a sludge-fest for the human body.
The heating of pasteurization completely destroys whatever benefits are in the milk to begin with (if it is actually healthful) – the proteins are rearranged to what is known as casein (cause for allergies & digestion problems), all the natural enzymes available to help digest the milk are destroyed, & helpful probiotic bacteria (which also negate the effects of harmful bacteria) are killed. The vitamins are destroyed by heat & A/D are re-added in. On top of that, cows are kept in horrifying conditions in their own waste, given hormones, fed corn (which they can’t digest), & are milked even when they have mastitis. This alone causes even more problems as an unwholesome product. If a cow is kept by an independent farmer, given good living conditions & access to grass, & if the milking conditions are kept sanitary, raw milk remains a wholesome product.
Hi Dr. Axe:
I believe that each person has to decide what’s best for him/her, however, I will say that I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis and have given up dairy products because the research that I’ve been conducting strongly links dairy to a host of medical problems that don’t exist in societies where dairy is not a part of their daily diet, and RA is just one of them.
I was, up until a few weeks ago, a heavy consumer of dairy. Being of Italian decent, cheese, as well as other dairy products, is a huge part of our cooking. It has been challenging to give up dairy, but I’m on a heavy-duty drug, Methotrexate, and it’s causing awful side effects. Since giving up dairy, just two weeks ago, my symptoms have calmed noticeably. I’ve lowered my dosage on my Methotrexate (with my doctor’s permission) and I will continue to do so until I no longer have to be on the drug. If giving up dairy means not having to fill my body with a toxic, anti-cancer drug, then so be it. If it means that I can live without RA, then I’ll never touch dairy again because the disease is incredibly painful and debilitating.
But to get back to the point, dairy in any form is toxic to the body and there’s plenty of credible information accessible on the web. Just visit the National Library of Medicine and search for Cow’s Milk.
I think a lot of what is on the internet and the information out there, is based on a normal dairy diet from the cows that are regulated by our government to provide the milk and beef that we buy in the market. What Dr Axe is providing is healthy Cows, healthy meat, healthy cheese, healthy dairy. Not what we are reading about and have been warned about. He is doing the research and providing Dairy and beef and other healthy food resources that do NOT contain the chemicals and hormones that are reeking havoc on our bodies. Please listen and read ALL the information carefully and read between the lines too. Dr Axe is not promoting going to the grocery store and buying their cheese. Listen carefully to him, please before spreading false assumptions of his information and product. I believe we were created to live off the land and given dominion over the animals… in everything moderation… I’m not for the “extreme’s” or the pendulum. But that’s just me. I live on a farm, raise my own eggs, chickens and beef, and garden. I know what I am eating all the way to what they were eating before I ate them. :)
I TOTALLY support the humane raising of animals, so if one is going to eat meat and buy dairy products then I’d much rather they get it from somewhere like Beyond Organic Ranch, however no matter how the animals are raised, meat and cheese aren’t good for your body. Organically grown, pasture fed, etc. food is better than 99% of what you pick up at the supermarket, but it still doesn’t change the negative effects meat and dairy have on your body.
Love the way your worded that – “I know what I am eating all the way to what they were eating before I ate them.”
Not many can say that, that’s for sure – what a blessing!
I’m confused why Dr. Axe is promoting cheese as well. No Dr. Axe bashing here because I’m not one to “throw the baby out with the bathwater” and I think Dr. A has tons of great info. and recipes to share, but I am surprised about the recommendation of cheese.
I am wondering if there is some kind of endorsement agreement wtih Beyond Organic Ranch that brought this on because there’s been a lot of featuring of products from there lately.
Also, what’s with the moldy cheese? That looked nasty. I buy cheese very rarely, mostly because even though I’m moving slowly from vegetarian to vegan eating, my family aren’t totally on board yet. When my cheese gets moldy I toss it.
I appreciate your constructive criticism, lain. However, in regards to Dr. T. Colin Campbell’s “China Study” he instructs that as long as you consume under 10% dairy you will be fine.
Take, for instance, Dr. Budwig’s Protocol that cures cancers. One of the foods you are to consume is: With an Immersion blender mix 6 Tbs of cottage with 3 Tbs Flax Oil and stir in 2 Tbs Flax Seeds.
For me, I could never give up my cheeses! So I stopped beating myself up over trying to eliminate it from my diet.
Nonetheless, Jordan here is making his cheeses devoid of any cattle with Steroids, Hormones, anti-biotics, and yet typically grass-fed. One cannot beat this!! Yum-Yum. Cannot wait to try it.
Thanks Dr. Axe for posting this. I did not know Jordan was doing this.
From,
Sandy
Sandy,
I looked at the video that was from West Palm Beach Florida in March 2011 – it’s about an hour long, but is VERY inspirational!
I think what he visions is Beyond anything anyone has ever done – but it’s now becoming a reality, so it IS very exciting.
The one thing I think – it’s better than anything anybody else is doing for us all!
Whenever I have shared healthy things with one of my sisters (who is very fit and healthy) she would just shake her head and say, but it’s so specialized and expensive and hard to come by..even moreso for most people. Why can’t GOOD THINGS just be MAINSTREAM!?
So, yeah, I’m going to try the products – you bet!
Because it sounds to me like Jordan is doing just that – making good things MAINSTREAM!
Amen, Gail!! And thanks for your commentary.
Thanks, lain, for your constructive criticism. However, in regards to Dr. T. Colin Campbell, he informs us that as long as we consume less than 10% dairy we will be fine. So I stopped beating myself up trying to rid dairy (mostly cheese) out of my diet. I love my cheeses!
In fact, Dr. Budwig (in her Protocol that cures many people of their cancers) tells us to consume daily 6 Tbs Cottage Cheese blended with an Immersion blender with 3 Tbs Flax Oil to make it soluble. And then mix in 2 Tbs. Flax Seeds. This way it is able to go right into the cells.
Here, Jordan is fixing to provide people with a healthy cheese that comes from cattle that were not pumped with Steroids, Anti-Biotics, Hormones, and yet grass-fed; as they should and not soy beans.
Yum-Yum. Cannot wait to try this. Thanks, Dr. Axe, for posting!
Sandy
I want some raw cheddar blue! I can’t wait. There are always going to be people with differing opinions, and I appreciate them as long as they are truly constructive.
I love how Jordan has produced such a healthy product and with such high standards that all the wild concerns of eating dairy can be put to rest.
Is dairy good or bad for you?? YES and NO! It always depends on HOW it’s produced. And I’m so excited to be able to partake in the products that Jordan will be offering.
His story is inspiring and his mission to help other achieve true health is what drives him to have such high standards for his food.
And it’s only this kind of commitment to health that people like Dr. Axe are willing to support and promote.
Thanks for sharing and I look forward to hearing more.
“It’s not just milk. When you take at look at cheese, yogurt, all the dairy products, they’re actually a bigger contributor to saturated fat – that’s the bad fat – bigger than meat!” – Dr. Neal Barnard, http://www.pcrm.org/
For those who would eat dairy anyway, yes, raw fermented dairy is the healthier option. I think it is better for health to avoid it all together though. Dr. Campbell’s research should not be ignored. I was born a lacto-ovo vegetarian who ate a lot of dairy and several years ago I had two bouts of cancer-in-situ. The 1st was treated conventionally and came back. The recurrence naturally went away when I ate an alkaline diet for a few months (vegan 80% vegetables, mostly raw). I’ve kept dairy below 5% of my diet (usually 0%) and the cancer has stayed away. Do what you want, but personally, there is too much research linking dairy proteins to human diseases for me to think it a healthy superfood, even in raw form.
@ Joshel – thanks for your great post.
@ Lain (and some others) THIS is a post that sets the perfect example of how to communicate; get your thought/opinion across; yet still be respectful of others.
Excellent, Joshel. Thanks!
I would love to know more about Jordan Rubin’s “beyond organic” farming and way of life. Could someone buy your food? How big a place do you have to own /run to be able to do this kind of farming on a small scale?
Jordan you are Awesome! saw you on TBN..I am on a gluten free diet (anything you could suggest for health and grain but gluten free? )
All this talk about cheese is making me hungry! LOL. I love cheese. The sharper, stinkier and moldier the better. ;)
I tried signing up for the beyond organics site, but was told I couldn’t without an enrollers code from someone who is already a member. Making it difficult for people to sign up seems a good way to discourage sales and prevent the info they have from spreading.
I am excited about Beyond Organics.
I agree – Dr Axe, do you have an enroller code that we can use to become insiders for Beyond Organic?
Yes, here is a link that will auto fill my enroller code for you to sign up!
http://www.beyondorganicinsider.com/becomeaninsider.aspx?enroller=745
otherwise use enroller code 745
To all concerned with the ill health effects of dairy – dairy is unhealthful when pasteurized (heat destroys everything good & denatures proteins/enzymes into bad things like allergenic casein) & when cows are not raised/fed properly. Raw milk is the way to go, & is actually a promising health food, including every vitamin & mineral, every macronutrient, enzymes to help digest it, & many helpful bacteria. http://www.raw-milk-facts.com/ http://www.realmilk.com/where1.html#co
